We caught up with Helmi on Sunday afternoon 23/8/09.
We learnt that he was actually still held in quarantine for H1N1 at Tebedu, and managed to be released for a day on condition that he returns to the centre before the day ends.
We went to Kampung Endap first. Met Kak Nor again. Helmi seemed to have settled with Kak Nor on her outstanding terms, and thus we were able to collect their harvest the following day. My workers went around on Monday, and collected 39 bags, total 850kg of corn on the cob.
That settled, we went to Kampung Rayu, Matang to view another plantation site which Sokan had planted. We met Sokan at Kampung Endap earlier. According to Sokan, he had planted about 20ac of plantation. We estimated that he would have used about 30bags of seeds, and there should be about 60 bags of seeds left unplanted. Helmi handed over a total of 92 bags to Sokan for him to plant.
Finally, we went to Buntal, where Sokan would plant on a 5ac land. We found out that the deal with the land-owner differs from our contract farming terms, so I instructed them to cancel this proposal.
As with Helmi, he accepted to part ways with a repayment of RM40,000/- to Agrijaya Trading for all the outstanding and undelivered goods - corn on corb, seeds, fertilizer, goats. His wife, Ika, was instructed over the phone to transfer the fund as soon as possible into Agrijaya Trading's current account. I will follow up closely on this.
My workers, Leman and Roshdi, wanted to catch up with Sokan on tuesday 25/8/09, but could not contact him at all. They wanted to record whatever happened to the remaining unplanted seeds.
